SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to veterinary, in particular, to methods of obtaining compositions for prevention and treatment of chronic renal insufficiency (CRI) in representatives of Felidae with hyperthyroidism. Compositions contain approximately from 28 to approximately 35% of protein relative to dry material, where protein constitutes, at least, 75% of vegetable protein, and approximately from 0.1 to less than, approximately, 1 mg/kg of iodine relative to dry material and/or approximately from 0.1 to, approximately, 1 mg/kg of selenium relative to dry material.
EFFECT: application of claimed invention will make it possible to prevent and treat chronic renal insufficiency in representatives of Felidae with hyperthyroidism.
