METHOD OF TREATING ACUTE PANCREATITIS AND CATHETER NEEDLE THEREFOR Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61K31/4436 A61P1/16 A61M5/158

Abstract RU 2398584 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: inventions refer to medicine, particularly to surgery, and can be used for treating a hepatopancreatoduodenal pathology. Acute pancreatitis treatment involves local intake of a drug substance, catheterisation and introduction of an anti-inflammatory medicinal agent into the round ligament of liver. Skin is incised in length 1.5 cm along the midline of stomach in a projection of the round ligament of liver. It is followed with laparoscope aided introduction of a tube case of a catheter needle through the incision. The tube case has a lumen diametre of 4.8-5.2 mm, a pointed tip in the form of a single front chamfer, and a cannula. The round ligament of liver is punctured through the tube case which is held in its cannula. The cannula has a surface for pin fixation and the greatest cross section in the form of an oval or an extended round corner rectangle. One smaller side of the cannula cross section is opposed to the single front chamfer with its plane directed to a generating line of the tube cases at an angle being 1.5-2 times less than that of a plane of front chamfer and a plane of the greatest cannula cross section. A mandrin of a cross section diametre of 1.8-2.2 mm is inserted into the tube case. The tube case is removed, and a catheter to be fixed to skin is introduced in the round ligament of liver through the mandrin. Then through the catheter, there are drop-by-drop introduced Xefocam 32 mg dissolved in 0.9% NaCl solution 100 ml at 45 drops per minute on the first day, Xefocam 24 mg dissolved in 0.9% NaCl solution 100 ml at 45 drops per minute on the second days and Xefocam 16 mg dissolved in 0.9% NaCl solution 100 ml at 45 drops per minute on the third day.

EFFECT: there is offered a novel method of treating acute pancreatitis and a catheterisation needle therefore.
