FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wood works, particularly to processing wastes of sawn wood cull sections and can be used in producing logs of ground timber. Proposed method comprises removal of cull sections and grinding timber to chips. Removed cull sections from processed low-quality wood are chipped, chips are sorted for pulp industry while sorting wastes are used for production of wood fuel granules. Chips sorting is performed in two steps, i.e., first goes size grading wherein light fraction is screened out while coarse fraction is subjected to gravity separation in airflow into three parts. High-quality part is used for pulp industry, other two parts, i.e. ground rot chips and gum pockets, are combined with screened out fine light chips to be used in production of wood fuel granules.

EFFECT: higher quality of chips and power properties of fuel briquettes.
