FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method of realising a parametric mode in a Moessbauer spectrometre involves recording intensity of gamma-radiation (or intensity of secondary X-rays/ conversion electrons) passing through an absorber under analysis as a function of Doppler velocity of the source given by a motion system. A digital code which corresponds to time-varying Doppler velocity is generated by the signal processor of the motion system. This digital code serves as memory address for accumulation of recorded data. When picking up ionising particles, the detector generates an analogue pulse whose amplitude is proportional to energy of the particle. If the amplitude of the pulse falls in a range (discriminator window) given on a discriminator, the latter generates a digital pulse which causes increment of the intensity value in data memory on an address given by the signal processor. The spectrum accumulated in the data memory is transmitted to the computer through the interface part of the spectrometre. Memory capacity of the spectrometre is increased. A high-speed analogue-to-digital converter designed for digitisation of the dynamic external parametre is used in the spectrometre. The digital code of the external parametre is combined with the digital code of the Doppler velocity, which is the memory address of the spectrum. Radiation intensity is recorded as a function of two variables.

EFFECT: simultaneous recording of multiple spectra distinguished by any external parametre.
