METHOD OF PREPARATION OF EXTRUDED DRY FEED FOR COMPANION ANIMAL, PRIMARILY - RODENTS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A23K1/20 

FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of extruded dry feed for companion animals. The method includes preparation of a dry mixture on the basis of cereals which contain corn meal and additives, load of moisturised mixture in the extruder, extrusion of the mixture heated to a temperature over 100°C, plasticised mixture squeeze through the matrix drawhole under pressure, intumescense of the extrudate at the matrix drawhole outlet under differential pressure, formation of a porous strap and carving the strap into pieces. The additives used to prepare the dry mixture are wheat bran and soyabean cake or soyabean cake containing a vitamin component in the following wt %: corn meal 20-60, wheat bran 30-35, soyabean cake or soyabean cake containing a component. Before loading the mixture in the extruder preliminary cyclic starting heating of the extruder is performed with an external heater to t° 150-180°C with the extruder cooled with air to t° 115-130°C. After the second heating and cooling cycle the extruder heating with the external heater discontinues. Then load of the moisturised mixture in the extruder is performed. The mixture extrusion is performed with the raw material internally heated to t° 115-140°C. Plasticised mixture squeeze is performed through the matrix drawhole under a pressure of 2-6 MPa.

EFFECT: invention allows to produce dry extruded feed for companion animals.
