FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when burning unsuitable and/or prohibited chemical plant protection agents and similar organic substances. The method involves preparation of persistent organic pollutants, mixing them with air, feeding the mixture into a furnace and burning in the furnace, passing gaseous combustion products through heat exchange apparatus and gas purification. The organic pollutants are mixed with air directly in the burner apparatus of the furnace. The organic pollutants in the furnace are fed by blowing with compressed air in form of the formed "air-organic pollutants" dispersion mixture. Air and the "air-organic pollutants" dispersion mixture are fed into the furnace in mass ratio between 1:0.01 and 1:0.1, while keeping flame temperature of gases coming out of the burner device of the furnace at 1400-1650°C.
EFFECT: complete and safe decomposition of persistent organic pollutants with recycling of chemical heat carried by the persistent organic pollutants, saving primary fuel and protection of the environment.
