METHOD OF RECYCLING SOLID MEDICAL WASTES Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC F23G5/27 A61L11/00 C08J11/20 B29B17/00

Abstract RU 2684263 C1

FIELD: waste processing and disposal.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermal recycling of medical wastes, including chlorine-containing and infected wastes. Method involves thermal decomposition of medical wastes without access of air (pyrolysis) with formation of gaseous and solid products, burning of pyrolysis products, cooling and cleaning of flue gases. At that, wastes are subjected to thermal decomposition in series-arranged low-temperature and high-temperature sections of thermal decomposition chamber (TDC), which is heated from outside by heat from combustion of gaseous pyrolysis products withdrawn from high-temperature section of TDC. Temperature in high-temperature section does not exceed 600 °C, and temperature in low-temperature section of TDC does not exceed 350 °C, gaseous products withdrawn from TDC low-temperature section are washed with aqueous alkaline solution, non-condensed during flushing of gaseous products are burnt together with main part of gaseous pyrolysis products, formed during combustion of gaseous pyrolysis products, flue gases are cooled in heat exchanger, cleaned in gas cleaning system and discharged into atmosphere, solid residue is removed from high-temperature section of TDC separately from gaseous products, inorganic inclusions are separated, and coke residue is exposed to steam gasification in separate device.

EFFECT: technical result is to create conditions that maximally exclude the possibility of dioxins formation, provide environmentally safe emissions, obtain materials suitable for cleaning flue gases, and provide autothermicity of the process due to own energy resources.
