FIELD: thermal recovery of domestic, industrial, and medical wastes. SUBSTANCE: method includes pyrolysis of wastes in layer while feeding oxidizing agent and injecting combustion products of additional fuel into waste layer, separation of pyrolysis products into solid coke residue and gaseous component, combustion of coke residue using secondary air and additional fuel combustion products, secondary combustion of gaseous component while feeding additional fuel combustion products from burners mounted over perimeter of afterburner; pyrolysis is effected at 900-950 C and at air flowrate (α) of 0.90-0.95; additional fuel combustion products are fed during combustion of coke residue along its surface at 1050-1100 C with α = 1.15-1.20; during combustion of gaseous component, additional fuel combustion products are supplied in overgrate blast fireballs crosswise to gaseous component flow with temperature maintained between 1100 1200 C and α = 1.20- 1.25. EFFECT: optimizing conditions for decontaminating solid organic wastes. 2 ex
