FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: when preparing the catalyst, an aqueous solution of complexes of platinum group metals and lithium formate is further mixed with an aqueous nanodiamond suspension with specific surface area of 250-600 m2/g and nanodiamond content of 30-85 wt % with respect to pure metal, and synthesis is carried out at temperature of 20-40°C, pH=7 and concentration of acids/salts in the solution between 10-3 and 10-7 mol/l. After that nanodiamonds containing platinum clusters are pre-activated with carbon monoxide and then coated with gold and rhodium clusters with the following ratio of active metals in the catalyst: platinum 80-98 wt %, rhodium 1-10 wt %, gold 1-10 wt %.
EFFECT: high selectivity of catalysts when used in indicator electrodes of electrochemical CO gas sensors and high efficiency during conversion of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide in air at the temperature of 25 °C.
