FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to occupational hygiene and human physiology. For the prediction of footwear heat insulation for cold protection, air temperature, foot area heat density and their average temperature are determined. In addition, heat density is determined in forehead, breast, back, waist, stomach, shoulder, hand, upper thighs, lower thighs, shin being in a relative rest condition in comfort climatic conditions; total body area is calculated; and cold stay period is estimated; allowable heat deficiency is assessed. The average total body area heat density in comfortable climatic conditions is calculated. Foot area and a portion of foot area heat to body area heat are determined, and also a predicted foot area heat density is calculated with considering an allowable body heat deficiency and estimated time of continuous cold staying. The obtained data are used to calculate a predicted footwear heat insulation for cold protection in rather still air and in the wind.
EFFECT: method improves reliability of prediction of footwear heat insulation for cold protection in a production environment under a complex of factors causing actual cold stress.
