FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to flight vehicles (FV) and landing platforms for them to land on planet surface using parachutes. Proposed method comprises parachute descent to preset distance to planet surface, determination of direction of FV horizontal speed vector, determination of mismatch angle between FV base plate and FV horizontal speed vector, stating FV soft landing jet engine at landing and release of parachute canopy after touchdown. At 1000 m, not more, from planet surface, FV is turned relative to parachute canopy to align FV base plane with FV horizontal speed vector with the help of drive, and this FV position is maintained till touch down.
EFFECT: soft landing with minimum landing overloads, distribution of overloads in preferable zones, as far as tolerability is concerned.
