FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in construction when making articles from gypsum. The gypsum suspension contains a hemihydrate of calcium sulphate, water and a dihydrate of calcium sulphate with a hydrophilic dispersed coating which is less soluble than the hemihydrate of calcium sulphate. The method of preparing the gypsum suspension involves selecting a hydrophilic dispersed coating which is less soluble than the dihydrate of calcium sulphate, applying the said coating onto the dihydrate of calcium sulphate; combining the dihydrate of calcium sulphate with the applied coating, hemihydrate of calcium sulphate and water to form a suspension. The method of making wallboard involves applying the said suspension with a polycarboxylate dispersion agent on facing material, moulding the board and solidification. The invention is developed in subclaims of the formula of invention.
EFFECT: prevention of early setting of the gypsum suspension and prevention of premature crystallisation of the gypsum.
