FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: for degassing of melted metal receiving box containing melted metal and layer of slag over melted metal is placed into chamber and chamber is evacuated. As pressure in the chamber is lowered, there is generated gas on surface of division between melted metal and slag; this gas causes sponging of slag. To prevent slag pouring out from the receiving box a sensor records a signal of slag surface level; rate of depression in the chamber is lowered depending on that signal and on rate of slag level change to decrease rate of gas generation.
EFFECT: preventing slag pouring out from receiving box.
