FIELD: performing operations.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a vacuum degassing apparatus, as well as a vacuum degassing method. Vacuum degassing unit includes a reservoir and a filter connected to it by means of a first pipeline, as well as at least one vacuum pump for creating a vacuum in the unit and forming a gas flow from the reservoir into the filter. Proposed plant includes a feeding device designed with the possibility of feeding powders into it, previously separated by a filter. Outlet channel of the feeding device is connected to the said first pipeline. Inlet channel of the feeding device is connected by means of the second pipeline to the container for collecting powders from the above filter in order to supply these powders to the feeding device. Also described is a method in which cold inert powders which are at least partially obtained from powders separated by filtration are added to gases removed from the reservoir before filtration.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides the creation of an installation and an alternative method of vacuum degassing, which enable to cool and reduce the concentration of pyrophoric powders contained in the removed gases, that is, to control the reactivity of the pyrophoric powders so as to transfer them to a safe state or significantly reduce their hazard before they enter the filter for collection.
