FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method involves putting a movable carrier of coaxially arranged probing and reception channels onto a remote-controlled platform, pulse probing of objects with a beam of elementary particles, reception of the radiation stream of the stimulated response of atomic elements to penetrating radiation in two parallel reception channels, in one of which the amplitude-time signal of the instantaneous response of the fissile material is picked up. In the other channel, through successive conversion of the energy spectrum of the radiations stream into the spectrum of the visible range, the amplitude-frequency characteristic of the response is recorded with possibility of controlling the signal sweep duration by cutting off the recording time with a timer. Synchronisation of operation of elements of the device through a telecommunication program from a computer, comparison of the programmed calculation based on the criterion of the minimum mean-square deviation of the form of current signals in the reception channels with the form of standard signals from a database and identification of the atomic element from selected signal features of two channels measured using different methods are carried out.

EFFECT: provision for remote control, more reliable detection and identification.
