FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device for detecting fissile materials has a channel for pulse probing objects using a beam of elementary particles, a response signal receiving channel, where the probing and receiving channels are arranged in line on the remote-controlled platform of a mobile carrier with possibility of operation in all-round view mode and scanning in the vertical plane on telecommunication program from a computer, which also synchronises operation of the receiving and transmitting channel with regard to control of duration and pulse ratio of the probing pulses. The receiving channel has an amplitude signal selector as a component of a detector of instantaneous reaction of the material to probing, a threshold device with a remote-controlled threshold voltage value; a duration signal selector as a component of a charge amplifier, differentiating chain of the response signal front, a timer with a remote-controlled duration of the signal cutoff interval; a signal waveform selector a component the peak detector of the analogue-to-digital converter, a buffer memory device and a compute for programmed calculation of the degree of similarity of the function of the current signal with a standard signal by calculating a function of their mutual correlation on the width of the correlation interval on which the type of the atomic element is determined.

EFFECT: remote probing of fissile materials, their accurate detection and identification.
