FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method aims at increasing quality of rolled cold-worked steel for zincing. It comprises strip draft with tensioning. Strips with final thickness of h<0.47 mm are rolled at two-stand roll mill from trip plate with thickness H=2.0 mm in two passes on ground or bossed rolls mounted at the 1st stand taking specific metal tension on mandrel-type coiler equal to 80 N/mm2 with extra tensioning of 20 N/mm2, while strips with h=0.47…1.5 mm are rolled from strip plate of H=2.0…3.2 mm at four-stand mill in similar rolls mounted in 4th stand. Note here that tension of tension on mandrel-type coiler for strips of h≤0.7 mm is set 0.5 tf higher, while for strips of h>0.7 mm it is set 1.0 tf higher relative to tensions used in rolling strips not intended for zincing.
EFFECT: adequate strength properties, with fractures nor edge breakages.
