FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly to pipe rolling, and can be used in producing cold- and hot-rolled pipes made, primarily, from difficult-to-form and low-ductility metals and alloys. Proposed method comprises multiple cyclic rolling on mandrels. Every rolling cycle comprises feeding round billets into rolling stand with rolls that comprise variable-section gages, deforming billets during stand straight path and billet turnover after stand reverse path. Rolling is performed in even number of strands. Billets are transferred along rolling axes in opposite directions during straight and reverse paths of the stand. Billets are deformed in every cycle after deformation of billets rolled in opposite direction.
EFFECT: even distribution of loads, reduced maximum rolling force.
