FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to woodworking industry and can be used for sizing veneer strips in production of plywood. Proposed device comprises foundation, a frame, knife with supports arranged between top and bottom pressure vertically-driven shafts so that axis of knife with supports are located in one vertical plane with axes of said pressure shafts. Pressure shafts vertical drives are mounted on movable platforms arranged between pairs of LH and RH load bearings posts. Knife comprises electric drive, tensioning device, support and cutting part made up of two bands sharpened on one side with sharpening angles of top and bottom bands being equal on turning the knife through 180.
EFFECT: higher reliability, simple design and reduced power consumption.
