FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: alloy contains carbon, manganese, silica, aluminium and iron at the following component ratio, wt %: carbon ≤ 2, manganese 8 - 14, silica ≤ 1.5, aluminium ≤ 0.08, iron and inevitable impurities are the rest. Alloy has increased resistance to damage in active carbon-containing media at temperatures of 573 -1173 K owing to no undesired metastable carbide phases leading to the process of spontaneous conversion of metal to powder.
EFFECT: manufacturing parts and equipment operating in active carbon containing media at increased temperatures.
