FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with resistance of tomatoes to Botrytis are defined. Identified loci are used for Botrytis-resistant tomato plants by transferring of nucleic acid containing at least one QTL or a part thereof, which confers resistance to Botrytis, from the donor tomato plant to recipient tomato plant sensitive to Botrytis. Transfer of nucleic acid is carried out through methods of transformation, protoplast fusion, doubling of haploids or removal of an embryo.
EFFECT: marker-mediated selection enables to yield hybrids and seeds of Botrytis-resistant tomato plants.
