FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method of obtaining polybutadiene or copolymers of butadiene with styrene through polymerisation of corresponding monomers in the medium of a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of an organolithium initiator and alcoholates of group I and group II metals as modifiers, which involves steps for preparing a hydrocarbon solution of a living polymer, branching the living polymer, characterised by that branching of the living polymer is carried out by holding the hydrocarbon solution of the living polymer at 60-110°C for 10-60 minutes until formation of polybutadiene or a copolymer of butadiene with styrene with given dynamic viscosity of a 5.43% solution in toluene between 50 and 250 MPa·s.
EFFECT: obtaining polybutadiene or copolymers of butadiene with styrene with narrow molecular-weight distribution and controlled dynamic viscosity of the solution of the polymer or copolymer in toluene for given Mooney viscosity values.
