FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: active collar locator includes opposite connected excitation coils wound on soft magnetic material, measurement coil arranged between them, instrument amplifier, common amplifier and micro processor. At that, measurement coil is connected to inlet of instrument amplifier, and micro processor provides pumping of required frequency through common amplifier to excitation coils and measures the change of delay of output signal from instrument amplifier.
EFFECT: increasing stability and resistance of determining threaded connection of casing pipes owing to increasing the device sensitivity.
