FIELD: acoustic methods of measurement and control of level of fluid in wells, holes and reservoirs. SUBSTANCE: method provides for radiation of acoustic probing pulse and for registration of signals reflected from sleeve joints of pipes and from fluid surface in well. In this case sleeves function as fixed reflectors- reference points. Depth of location of any sleeve is found in agreement with well certificate by known length of arms of drill pipes situated above given sleeve joint. Acoustic level gauge has pulse generator, amplifier, commutator placed in series and inverted acoustic converter located on strapping of gusher fittings of well. Commutator is connected through low-pass filter to comparator. Outputs of comparator are connected to registration unit and microprocessor. The latter is connected to pulse generator, low-pass filter and comparator. EFFECT: simplified measurement process with maintenance of high accuracy and reliability of determination of fluid level. 2 cl, 1 dwg
