CLOSED-LOOP PULSE-PERIODIC ELECTRIC DISCHARGE LASER (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC H01S3/97 H01S3/08

Abstract RU 2405233 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: laser has housing in form of two shells placed one into the other with a discharge chamber between them, power supply, resonator at the but-ends of the chamber, heat exchanger, gas purification and pumping apparatus placed between the shells. The resonator is in form of a totally reflecting mirror and an exit mirror on one side of a plane-parallel plate and a trihedral angled reflector whose reflecting surface faces the plane-parallel plate. The plane in which the longitudinal axis of the discharge gap and the peak of the angled reflector lie is perpendicular to the direction of discharge current and is parallel to the direction of the gas stream. On one version of the laser, the discharge chamber has two parallel discharge gaps which are perpendicular to the plane-parallel plate and lie relative the peak of the trihedral angled reflector such that generated radiation does not fall on its edges. In the second version, the discharge chamber has one discharge gap which is perpendicular to the plane-parallel plate with possibility of automatic formation of a laser channel during discharge, outside the discharge gap ahead the gas stream. The discharge gap and the passive laser channel are parallel and lie relative the peak of the trihedral angled reflector such that generated radiation does not fall on its edge.

EFFECT: possibility of generating radiation with characteristic which do not vary with time under conditions of temperature deformations, vibrations and overloading, accompanying transportation of the laser and its use on moving transportation vehicles.
