SUBSTANCE: bag filter is designed for a vacuum cleaner. The bag filter has an inlet and comprises a deflecting device which is placed inside the filter in the area of its inlet and which is made with the possibility to reject the airflow entering through the inlet. Inside the filter a breathable layer of material is placed, which is connected to this filter, at least at one point, and which contains at least one part which is not connected to this filter and containing a part of the material layer boundary. The area of the material layer is less than the area inside the filter. The area of indicated at least one disconnected part is at least 20% of the material layer area. At least one disconnected part forms a convex site on the material layer surface. According to the method of using the bag filter for a vacuum cleaner with a layer of breathable material and a deflecting device which is made in one item with the connecting element of the vacuum cleaner and additionally comprises a connecting means for joining the deflecting device to the connector, through which the said filter is connected with vacuum suction tube, the connecting means and the deflecting device are made so that in use of the vacuum cleaner the deflecting device is located inside the specified filter and deflects the airflow coming inside the connecting means, and the material layer is placed inside the said filter and is connected with the specified filter at least at one point. At least one part of the said material layer is not connected to this filter and contains a part of the material layer boundary.
EFFECT: increase of operating life of bag filter with providing during the operating life a high suction power.
