FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to monitoring the irritant effect of intravascular catheters. A piglet is edgewise positioned and fixed to choose an extremity and its region with a straight branchless portion of the subcutaneous vein for the intravenous introduction of a catheter spaced from a bend of elbow in a proximal joint at a distance exceeding the length of a catheter tube. The extremity is extended and fixed in a horizontal plane. Skin temperature is measured in the selected region with catheter and fixing material temperature reduced to this level. An isothermal catheter is introduced into the selected vein, fixed to skin with an isothermal fixing material. Then every 30 minutes, the extremity is bent in a horizontal plane in the proximal joint at 90° for 30 minutes and then extended to the initial condition. The skin state is recorded in a projection point of all components of the catheter. Recording follows the introduction one hour later and immediately precedes the catheter removal.
EFFECT: method provides higher safety, accuracy and rate of monitoring the irritant effect of the catheters due to emergency data accessing of skin, subcutaneous fat and venous wall endothelium irritation in a movable extremity.
