FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: prepared pipe specimen assembled with lower plug is installed on the mandrel. Then upper plug is installed on the mandrel; after that there sealed are gaps between lower plug and lower edge of pipe, as well as the gap between upper pipe edge and upper plug, which provides the process sealing of the pipe specimen, which consists of steel band wound in several layers and polyurethane band wound over it.

EFFECT: possibility of performing the test of the pipe specimen, and excluding possible influence of external transverse and longitudinal loads on the tested pipe specimen.
