SUBSTANCE: audio decoding method involves receiving a step-down mixing signal which is obtained by step-down mixing of multiple object signals, and additional object information containing object-based additional information and control information, extraction of metadata containing description of the object signal from the object-based additional information, pre-processing the position or level of the object signal and generation of a multichannel audio signal by using the pre-processed step-down mixing signal, spatial parametre information and control information.
EFFECT: method and device for coding and decoding audio for efficient processing of object-based audio signals.
