FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the surgical treatment of concomitant non-permanent strabismus in children. The method includes a limbal-radial incision of the conjunctiva and Tenon's capsule, isolation of the extraocular rectus muscle while preserving the muscle bursa. The lateral rectus muscle is isolated and Botox is injected at a dose of 3–5 units or Dysport at a dose of 12–16 units, for which an insulin syringe is injected 6–7 mm from the muscular root of the lateral rectus muscle, into the middle part of its muscle bag, placing the cut needles towards the sclera, followed by advancing the needle to a depth of 2–5 mm in the distal direction.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of treatment, minimize the stages of subsequent surgical treatment, and increase the stability of the result obtained.
