FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for dimensionless machining of part surfaces by rattle methods: drum, vibration, centrifugal, towing, magnetic etc., to remove burrs, welding burrs, rust, scale, rounding off of sharp edges and polishing. Invention covers rattle body for abrasive machining. Proposed rattle body represents a geometrical body made up of abrasive material and binder. Abrasive material comprises silicon nitride or silicon nitride-based composite material produced by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis from ferrosilicon production wastes in amount of 0.1 to 90% of rattle body volume.
EFFECT: improved operating performances.
