SUBSTANCE: proposed method of sterilisation of bottles, cans or the like, comprises activating processing medium in container by feeding power thereto. For this, electromagnetic radiation, for example microwaves, is used. Frequency spectrum of electromagnetic radiation is selected so that at least one radiation frequency equals or approximately equals resonance frequency of at least one component of processing medium or is a multiple of said resonance frequency, or makes an integer component of the latter.
EFFECT: processing of containers with low heat resistance without deformation and shrinkage.
