FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of testing a lighter which is realised using a lighter with limited flow, incombustible fluid media is directed through a flow limiter and flow of the stream of incombustible liquid through the flow limiter is measured. The lighter also has a fuel reservoir which is evacuated at the end of testing. Before directing the incombustible fluid medium through the flow limiter, said incombustible fluid medium is put into a fuel reservoir. After measuring flow of the stream through the flow limiter, the incombustible fluid medium is removed from the reservoir which is then evacuated. Of flow of the stream is within given limits, the lighter is put into the category of successfully tested lighters, and if the measured flow of the stream is outside the flow limits, the lighter is put into the category of failed test lighters. The given flow limits correspond to given flow limits of a stream of combustible fluid medium. The incombustible fluid medium is an inert gas. The incombustible fluid medium is selected from a group which includes air and nitrogen. The flow limiter is a porous element. The flow limiter is a tube with an inner diametre which limits flow through the tube.
EFFECT: invention enables to maintain the required flame height.
