FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preheating helium concentrate, mixing it with an oxygen-containing mixture, heating the obtained mixture, separating hydrogen and methane from the helium concentrate through reaction oxidation with oxygen on a catalyst, cooling the helium concentrate and partial condensation of moisture followed by its separation, adsorption drying and cleaning the helium concentrate from moisture and carbon dioxide, compression, cleaning the helium concentrate from oil and moisture residue, cooling the dried helium concentrate through recuperative heat exchange and cooling cycle nitrogen followed by condensation of nitrogen from the helium concentrate, adsorption cleaning the gas from nitrogen and neon. A portion of the dried helium concentrate taken after cleaning from oil and moisture residue is pre-mixed with oxygen and the obtained mixture is used as the oxygen-containing mixture.
EFFECT: lower content of nitrogen and trace amounts of other impurities in the helium concentrate undergoing complex cleaning, high efficiency of low temperature cleaning of the helium concentrate from nitrogen.
