FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed here procedure refers to devices for control and measurement of physical parametres of substances and is designed for non-contact measurement of high temperature metal melt, for example amorphising steel melt with non-stationary method on base of attenuation of torsion oscillations of cylinder crucible with melt. The procedure of non-contact measurement of viscosity of high temperature melt is based on lightning a mirror with a light beam from a source of light; also, the mirror is positioned on a swirled flexible filament with a suspended crucible containing melt. Further parametres of trajectory of the light beam reflected with this mirror are registered by means of a photo-receiving device. There is measured the received signal reflecting amplitude-time parametres of attenuation of torsion oscillations of the crucible with melt suspended on the flexible filament. Also, in the process of recording parametres of trajectory of light beam reflected from the mirror there is periodically performed control of shift of a current zero line- isoline of trajectory of light beam by means of maintaining minimal difference between successive measured parametres of oscillations of light beam reflected from the mirror and a preceding value.
EFFECT: raised reliability and accuracy of measurement of viscosity of high temperature melt by increased reliability and accuracy of measurement of amplitude-time parameters of trajectory of light beam reflected from mirror used for determination of logarithm decrement of attenuation of torsion oscillations of crucible with melt.
