FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed method is realised using an apparatus for photometric determination of kinematic viscosity of an alloy. An alloy sample is placed in a crucible on a twisted elastic thread inside an electric heater of a vertical electric furnace; a mirror attached to said elastic thread is illuminated and the light beam path is determined by a photodetector. Further, the electric heater is turned on and parameters of the output signal of the photodetector are determined. Heating of the sample is continued and the first change in the output signal of the photodetector during the sample heating process is detected. Temperature at which change in the output signal began is recorded, indicating the Curie point of the sample.
EFFECT: high information content and accuracy of data of thermal dependencies of physical properties of high-temperature ferromagnetic metal alloys based on Fe, Co and Ni.
