FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of obtaining a high-resolution image, involving: creation of an optical image of objects, moving the field of vision of the optoelectronic system relative the objects, conversion of the optical image to a digital signal in form of a sequence of image frames, creation of a reference fragment, expansion and interpolation of frames, calculating and compensating for interframe displacements, superposing frames and restoring the image. The reference fragment is created by carrying out successive image processing cycles, each including operations for selecting a fragment similar to the current reference fragment from the field of the current processed frame and updating the current reference fragment through its superposition with the selected fragment. The initial reference fragment is an image fragment with given dimensions, located at a given place in the field of vision of the optoelectronic system when the image processing cycle is launched. The image restoration operation is performed after superposition of all processed image frames.

EFFECT: high image quality in low signal-to-noise ratio conditions and high resolution, reliability and efficiency of the optoelectronic system.
