FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: heat locator comprises optically-coupled two-coordinate optical scanning system (TCS), telescope with built-in angle mirror, two optical wedges (OW) arranged to revolve at equal angular speed in opposite directions, lens, matrix photoreceiver (MPR), signal primary processing unit, data secondary processing unit, and central control unit. Note here that TCS may rotate about vertical and horizontal axes. Angle mirror and two OWs are provided with position transducers and rotation drives to rotate about vertical axis in response to commands from drive control unit (DCU). DCU allows generating synchronized rotation paths of rotary units coupled with MPR frame frequency. Another versions of TCS design use prism-cube or two flat mirrors arranged on horizontal platform. Note here that the latter allows rotation about vertical axis while tprism-cube or second mirror may rotate around horizontal axis.
EFFECT: scanning of preset space zone at angular frame frequency, high angular resolution and threshold sensitivity, simple design and small weight.
