FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing allyl alcohol, which involves an allyl acetate hydrolysis step, a distillation step for separating and refining the reaction product and a recuperation step for collecting reaction material after the distillation step. Ally acetate, which is a component of the reaction material, acts as a displacer of azeotropic distillation and the portion of ally acetate, which acts as displacer, is fed to the distillation step, where a portion of liquid and/or gas which was recuperated at an extra step after the distillation step and contains 80 wt % or more unreacted ally acetate is fed to the distillation step.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables reduction of energy required for separation during azeotropic distillation without significantly lowering efficiency of separation.
