FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for determination of lubricating property of oil consists in testing friction pair in oil. Further, electrical current is transmitted through this pair; direct current is measured when friction pair is immobile and friction mode gets stabilised. Also, sample of oil of constant weight is heated and mixed at certain temperature depending on usage of oil during a certain period of time. Next a part of oxidised oil is sampled and photometric measured; there is determined coefficient of light flux absorption; another part of the oxidised oil sample is tested twice on a friction machine at constant friction parametres. Notably, parametres of wear of the friction pair are measured without current and under direct current transmitted from a stabilised current source. There are determined current influence coefficient Kci on lubricating capacity of oxidised oil by the formula where Ut is parametre of wear at transmitting direct current through the friction pair from an external stabilised source; U is parametre of wear of the friction pair without current, mm; while friction property of tested lubricating oil is determined from values of current influence coefficient, where negative value of current influence coefficient Kci testifies to increased lubricating property of oxidised oil, while positive value of current influence coefficient Kci indicates reduced lubricating capacity of oxidised oil.
EFFECT: upgraded information value of procedure at determination of lubricating property of oxidation and tendency to form protective chemisorption layers on friction surfaces.
