PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINATION OF LUBRICATING PROPERTY OF OIL Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC G01N33/30 G01N3/56

Abstract RU 2419791 C1

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: friction pair is operated with lubrication. Electrical current is transmitted through the friction pair and oil of constant weight is sampled. The sample is heated in a specified temperature range at atmospheric pressure during constant time. The results are photometric measured. There is determined coefficient of light flux absorption, and there is plotted graphic dependence of light flux absorption coefficient from heating temperature. A value of light flux absorption coefficient is determined by a breaking point of dependence curve corresponding to termination of oil working efficiency. Further, the sample is tested on a friction machine under constant modes of friction and with transmitting direct current through the friction pair from an external stabilised power source of a specified characteristic established when the friction pair is immobile. There is measured diametre of wear spot of one of elements of the friction pair. Graphic dependence of wear spot diametre from light flux absorption coefficient is plotted and there is determined a point corresponding to termination of oil working efficiency on base of value of light flux absorption coefficient obtained from graphic dependence of coefficient of light flux absorption from temperature. Lubricating capacity of oil is determined on a section of the curve from coordinate axis to this point. If the curve is stable or decreases, then oil possesses good lubricating capacity.

EFFECT: increased information value of determination.
