FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: oil sample of constant mass is heated under constant temperature with mixing, within equal intervals of time they take a part of the oxidised oil sample, and in each of them they determine the coefficient of oxidised oil light flux absorption by means of photometric measurements, and it is tested for antiwear properties, at the same time they determine the diameter of the wear spot and the coefficient of antiwear properties P, equal to Ka/U, where Ka - coefficient of light flux absorption, and U - diameter of wear spot, mm, they build a linear graphical curve of the antiwear properties coefficient P dependence on the coefficient of absorption of the light flux Ka, which is used to determine antiwear properties of lubricant oils. According to the invention, in the method they additionally determine impact of steel at quality of lubricant oils. At the same time they additionally heat the oil sample of constant mass with a steel element under constant temperature with mixing, within equal intervals of time they take a part of the oxidised oil sample and perform the above cycle of tests. Then they build linear graphical curves of dependence of antiwear properties coefficients on coefficients of light flux absorption for oils tested without steel and with steel, using which, they determine speed of variation of the coefficient of antiwear properties by means of determination of the ratio of P/Ka. Impact of steel at quality of lubricant oils is estimated by the value of the coefficient of steel impact Ksi, determined in accordance with the following formula: Ksi=(Vaw-Vaws)/Vaw×100%, where Vaw and Vaws - are accordingly speeds of variation of the coefficient of antiwear properties of oil tested without steel and with steel.

EFFECT: improved information value of determination and justification of selection of lubricant materials.
