FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: working medium can be used to make a thermoluminescent detector of ionising radiation used in individual dosimetry to determine the dose absorbed by personnel; to determine the dose absorbed by patients during X-ray diagnostics and therapy; to determine the dose absorbed in the radiation field of high-dose process installations. The working medium for thermoluminescent detectors of ionising radiation contain nano-dispersed diamond powder with particle size of approximately 5 nm, powder of SiO2-based material ground to particle size smaller than 0.08 mm and silicate glue as binder for the two materials. The composite working medium is prepared by mixing SiO2 and ultradispersed diamond in the following ratio, wt %: ultradispersed diamond powder with particle size of approximately 5 nm 25-65, SiO2 25-65, silicate glue - the rest.
EFFECT: wide range of detected ionising radiation doses of the working medium.
