FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical psychology, particularly to a psychotherapeutic approach to overweight reduction. A psychotherapeutic obligation to follow a rational dietary pattern is concluded, and a conducted psychotherapy course involves at least four on-site group sessions for 4 to 7 days in total between which the patient performs off-site self-guided work with using printed rational eating behaviour psychology and dietetics guidelines, as well as a follow-up visit at least 25 days after the beginning of the course. Each of sessions involves rational psychotherapy, and a first session presents goal-oriented approaches to rational eating behaviour, while the following sessions aim at maintaining the goal-oriented eating behaviour and/or correcting the behaviour deviating from the goal orientation, and the last session implies the suggested confidence in self-guided embodiment of the goal-oriented approaches. The off-site self-guided work of a first inter-session period ensures to actualise beneficial effects of weight reduction, then to actualise beneficial effect of overeating and overweight, and finally to list alternative pleasures not related to food consumption. At the first session, an overweight problem is disidentified from a patient's personality by a psychosynthesis technique; the first three sessions cover a nondirective procedure that involves physiotherapeutic exposure suggested to the patient as promoting weight reduction. At the second and third sessions, the suggestion is maintained by the induced altered state of consciousness (ASC) by holotropic breathwork, and the second session aims at forming aversion with respect to an imagined product causing neurotic inclination, while the third one - with respect to a real product causing neurotic inclination, provided further consumption thereof in a diet during weight reduction; at each sessions, at least once, with underlying audiovisual stimulation (AVS), the ASC is induced by directive visualisation through relaxation and/or meditation; at least at one of these sessions, previously presented suggestions and/or attitudes are fixed.
EFFECT: method provides higher effectiveness of conventional psychotherapeutic approaches, eliminated action of a psychotherapist's personality on clinical effectiveness, and more reliable effect.
