SUBSTANCE: method of making a corner fitting involves the following operations: providing a flat woven fabric (20) having a first woven area which has fibres lying in a first and a second direction, a second woven area lying next to the first woven area and having fibres (28) lying in the first direction, and sacrificial fibres (26) lying in the second direction, and a third semi-woven area having fibres lying in the first direction and selectively meshed with the sacrificial threads lying in the second direction. The method also involves operations for folding the flat woven fabric in at least one direction and removing the sacrificial fibres lying in the second direction. During this removal process, these sacrificial fibres are replaced on the second woven area with fibres from the third semi-woven area lying in the first direction, and a corner fitting is formed, having continuous fibres which join all sides.
EFFECT: reinforcement in three directions in the fitting.
