FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: before inserting an arthroscope, fragments position is stabilised with using an external fixation apparatus. It is followed with arthroscopy-aided exploration of a joint cavity, and tissue interposition is eliminated within an interfragmentary diastasis. Injured cartilaginous portions are smoothed and sealed. Wound surfaces of the patella fragments are processed to ensure their geometric equivalence. Closed reduction of the fragments is applied.
EFFECT: method enables oriented closed treatment of an injury region, higher accuracy of the reduction procedure, optimised conditions of patella fragments consolidation and repair of the injured cartilaginous portions.
