FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: arthroscopic diagnosis is combined with eliminating femoropatellar injuries, measuring a degree of patellar displacement and rotation in relation to an intercondylar fossa followed by an open stage of the operation comprising an alloplasty of the medial patellofemoral ligament. Fixation and a degree of centration are determined by means of special measuring instruments. That enables repositioning the patella anatomically correctly.
EFFECT: reconstructing the anatomical structure of the medical patellofemoral ligament which is a portion of the medial patellar retinaculum and the primary stabiliser preventing the lateral patellar displacement.
