SUBSTANCE: in the support system for a patient, comprising a supporting surface for the patient, the carrier rack to maintain the bearing surface and a transport cart to transport the bearing surface, and on the bearing surface the first connecting elements (22) are placed, aimed for selective connection with the second or third connecting elements (24, 26), respectively, on the carrier rack and the transport truck, at that, at least on one of the connecting elements blocking means are provided (60, 62) for blocking the first connecting elements (22) alternately with the second or third connecting elements (24, 26), when the bearing surface is connected to the carrier rack or, respectively, to the transport truck, the blocking means comprise at least one blocking element (60, 62), set on one of the connecting elements (22, 24, 26) with the ability to move, this blocking element in the position of linking two connecting elements (22, 24, 26) comes into the groove (76, 82), respectively, of adjacent connecting element, and control cams (88) are made on the connecting elements, whereby the blocking element (60, 62) during the transfer support surface from the carrier rack to the transport truck or back forcibly comes into the corresponding groove or comes out of it.
