FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: tire 20 with a number of studs is used to estimate the state of contact. Multiple different-length studs are arranged along the tire periphery and feature the tread pattern wherein rear edges of adjacent studs are arranged with invariable spacing. In compliance with proposed method, acceleration pickup 11 secured on turning cam 23 registers intermittent vibrations transmitted from tire 20 to said turning cam and originating when rear edges tear off road surface, thus allowing to determined the shape of oscillation frequency. In compliance with proposed method, the level of variation of oscillation frequency shape is determined in registered frequency band both in speed (V) measured by angular velocity 12 and in specified range to estimate the state of tire contact by said level of vibration.
EFFECT: high accuracy of tire contact state without attaching pickups to tire.
