FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pneumatic tire. Pneumatic tire contains tread (1), having contact surface (5), which comes into interaction with road surface during tire rotation, and pair of side walls (3) forming tire side surfaces and passing from tread (1) to inside in radial direction. Each side wall (3) has external surface (7), passing from contact surface (5) edge to corresponding side wall (3) in direction along tire width, wherein polygonal blocks (11) are made on outer surface (7), limited by grooves (9). On each of polygonal blocks (11) external surface on each side wall (3) first auxiliary grooves (13) are made, passing in direction along tire width, so, that said first auxiliary grooves (13) both ends are opened to grooves (9), restricting polygonal blocks (11).

EFFECT: technical result is creation of pneumatic tire with improved resistance to lateral slip on snowy and icy road surface.
